Loved the spacious rooms and beautiful surroundings. The staff were extremely friendly and accommodating, making us feel right at home. The location was ideal for outdoor enthusiasts, with stunning views from the large back garden.
The bathroom facilities were not up to par, with an external bathroom that was inconvenient. The limited food options in the area were also a downside.

The location of New Ing Lodge was ideal for our coast to coast walk, providing a convenient base to rest and recharge. The rooms were tastefully decorated and the bathrooms spacious and clean, ensuring a comfortable stay. The friendly hosts went above and beyond to accommodate our needs, from tweaking the menu to providing a substantial packed lunch for our early departure. We especially enjoyed the outdoor seating area and brick-built BBQ, perfect for relaxing after a long day of walking.
One minor drawback was the lack of hanging space in our specific room.

I had a pleasant stay at this lodge in Shap. The communal eating area was a nice touch and allowed me to meet other guests. The rooms were comfortable with great views, and the breakfast provided was fantastic. Additionally, the location was convenient for traveling to other places in the area.
There were a few downsides to my experience. There wasn't much to do locally in the town, as it is quite small.

We recently stayed at a lodge in Shap for a romantic escape and we had a fantastic time! The lodge was incredibly cozy and had a warm and welcoming atmosphere. The log burner in the lounge was a highlight, providing the perfect setting for us to relax and enjoy hot chocolate together. The bedroom was comfortable and provided a peaceful retreat after a long day of exploring. We also loved that the lodge was located near some beautiful walking trails, allowing us to immerse ourselves in nature and enjoy the stunning surroundings.
That we couldn't get an en-suite room. We understand that we booked late and it was a busy time, so this was our own fault.

They also made my dog feel very welcome. the location of the lodge was perfect for a stopover between the West Country and Scotland, as it was very close to the M6. It was also a popular choice for walkers on the Coast to Coast path. the staff were friendly and helpful, and there was a great bar with local beers. I didn't have the evening meal on this occasion, but I definitely plan to next time as it looked lovely.
